US designates 6 Pakistani firms for unsafeguarded nuclear proliferation

Washington, DC, December 9: Six Pakistani firms have been added to the US Commerce Department's Entity List for missile proliferation and unsupervised nuclear activities.These businesses were included in a total of two dozen organizations from Russia, Switzerland, Latvia, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates.The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the Commerce Department published a rule today that added 24 new entities to the Entity List in 26 entries, placing strict license constraints on these entities to severely restrict access to commodities, software, and technologies that are covered by the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the US Commerce Departments said in a press release that these entities are listed under the countries of Russia, Switzerland, Latvia, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Dynamic Engineering Corperation has been added to the Entity List for unprotected nuclear activity and missile proliferation related activities for Pakistan, according to BIS in the statement.The statement said that five companies have been added to the Entity List for their contribution to unsupervised nuclear activity and missile proliferation related activities that are incompatible with the US national security and foreign policy objectives.Kendler said that taking action today prevents that from happening and shows that the United States is a leader in standing up for the values of ethical innovation.
