Afghanistan: Special envoy Rina Amiri has said that the Taliban are becoming more defiant in following the old ways, condemning reports of public flogging in eastern Logar province, which is both chastising and risky.According to US envoy Amiri, the situation didnt go well before and it would put the country on a dangerous course once more.In a tweet on Thursday, the Supreme Court said that three women and eleven men, including three women, were publicly flogged in Logar province for various offenses, including adultery, robbery, and other forms of corruption.Haibatullah Akhundzada received the order, according to Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid, after the leader met with a group of judges.

According to Taliban spokesperson Yousef Ahmadi, those who commit murder, kidnapping, or looting must be punished for their conduct.According to Human Rights Watch, the Taliban took over Afghanistan in August 2021 and implemented measures severely restricting basic rights, particularly those of women and girls.Taliban forces have executed revenge attacks and enforced disappearances of former government officials and security force personnel, according to human rights organisations.They have summarily executed people who are believed to be affiliated with the Islamic State.
