VARANASI (VARANASI) — According to his counsel, a BSP member of Parliament Atul Kumar Singh was cleared of rape, cheating, and assault on Saturday.The 24-year-old woman who filed the lawsuit against the MP, along with her friend and witness in the case, died after self-immolation outside the Supreme Court in Delhi in August last year.According to Anuj Yadav, the MP's counsel, Siyaram Chaurasia, the special judge of the MP-MLA court ruled in favour of Singh alias Atul Rai, who represents the Ghosi Lok Sabha seat and has been in jail since June 2019.Yadav said the court erred in his testimony about the perpetrator's testimony.

The woman admitted to rape against Atul Rai and others on May 1, 2019.Rai reportedly assaulted her, raped her, and allegedly made videos and photos, according to the police complaint.Following this, he threatened to post the video online.Rai surrendered to court on June 22, 2019, and has been sent to Prayagraj's Naini Jail.
