A worker who was cleaning the lake in Kamlanagar area on Ajwa Road noticed a plastic bag with the garbage . The bag was full of Rs 2,000 currency notes worth Rs 5.30 lakh .

VADODARA: A worker who was cleaning the lake in Kamlanagar area on Ajwa Road noticed a plastic bag with the garbage.He was shocked when he took out the plastic bag to check its contents.The bag was full of Rs 2,000 currency notes.The jober immediately called the police and alerted them to the currency notes worth Rs 5.30 lakh.

The incident occurred on the eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modis' visit to the capital.Once it became clear that all the notes were genuine, the cops checked to see if they had collected the currency notes from the bank and began investigating.To find out who may have taken the money, the police said it is scanning CCTV footage of the area.It is speculated that someone had disposed of the money to avoid being caught during an income tax investigation.
