At the National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR), Vadodara hosted the first-ever symposium on the futuristic technology hyperloop transportation system: an Indian perspective. The purpose of the meeting was to raise awareness of the hyperloop industry and to initiate a dialogue between all interested parties in order to lay out a roadmap for the implementation of hyperloop transportation schemes in India. At the conference on Friday, six research teams of students presented their research proposals on hyperloop transportation schemes. The teams were Avishkar Hyperloop from IIT Madras, Vegapod Hyperloop from MIT-WPU Pune, Infinity Hyperloop from IIT Delhi, Nirman Hyperloop from Thakur College of Engineering and Technology in Mumbai, Hyperloop India from the BITS Pilanis Hyderabad campus, and the Pune-based Indian Hyperloop Committee.
According to NAIRs director general Chandralekha Mukherjee, the meeting provided a conducive forum for academicians, scientists, and industry practitioners to improve the knowledge, experience, and techniques required for the design, deployment, and operation of indigenous hyperloop transport systems in India.Dr. S R Chakravarthy, a professor at IIT Madras, gave a presentation on hyperloop technology, and Sudeep Shrivastava, executive director of the Railway Board, discussed research on hyperloop technology.According to Sanjay Kumar Pankaj, professor of mechanical engineering, the future of hyperloop seems promising, with hopes that academicians, engineers, and industry leaders would accelerate India's first indigenously developed hyperloop transport. In collaboration with IIT Madras, the ministry of railways has already revealed plans to implement a hybrid hyperloop system.
