NEW DELHI: According to sources familiar with the situation, three Delhi government officials who were suspended by lieutenant governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Wednesday were allegedly involved in transferring over 600 bighas of evacuee land in Narela near Yamuna to private entities between 2015 and 2021.Although the LG ordered one DANICS and two ad hoc DANICS officials, who served as SDMs of Alipur at different times, to be recalled to the Union ministry of home affairs by the same organization, sources said.Nagender Shekhar Pati Tripathi is a selection grade officer and currently serves as an ADM.The home ministry is the authority to make a decision.

Harshit Jain, the suspended official, was replaced by Vasant Vihar by Devendra Sharma, who was the SDM for Vivek Vihar, and Prakash Chand Thakur, the CM's deputy secretary.The LG has started disciplinary proceedings against them.These officials, who are believed to be SDMs of the Alipur sub-division, allegedly gave orders renunciating the government's ownership of the evacuee property to private firms.According to reports, while Sharma was posted in Alipur in 2015, Thakur reportedly transferred the property in June 2019, Tripathi in November 2019, and Jain in June 2021.

Currently under the custody of the Center, evacuee properties actually belonged to people who fled to Pakistan during partition.These properties are present in Delhi in large numbers in the Walled City, Shahdara, and outer Delhi.On the Yamuna land parcels, private farmhouses were forming.The private individuals who bought the property registered in their names trade in real estate.

According to a report, the move symbolizes the LG's dedication to zero tolerance for graft and transparency in the government's operation.After finding defects in the construction of EWS flats at Kalkaji Extension, the LG had suspended two DDA assistant engineers.
