Vote counting for 250 wards in the MCD will start at 8 a.m. today.

New Delhi, India, December 7: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) election will be held on Wednesday to determine the winner of the high-stakes civic polls in which the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) contest each other.The AAP is expected to win the municipal polls, with the BJP coming in second.The Congress will only receive a handful of seats.The Commission has also established 42 counting centers around the region.

136 engineers from Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) have been stationed at these counting centers, to help with any technical issues related to the EVMs encountered during the counting of votes.The exit polls indicated that the BJP, which has dominated the national capital for three consecutive civic elections, would be stripped from power in the first civic election since the re-unification of the municipal corporations, according to the SEC (HQ) at Nigam Bhawan, Kashmere Gate.From 2012-2022, there were 272 wards in Delhi and three companies-NDMC, SDMC, and EDMC-in Delhi that had later reunified into an MCD, which officially took place on May 22.
