Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, president of the Punjab Congress, condemned Sunil Jakhar's ungrateful and unjustified outburst against the party and its leadership in Chandigarh, launching a counterattack.Warring said in a statement from Udaipur that Jakhar sahab's behaviour was sad, unfair, horrific, and outrageous against the party, which had given so much to him and his family, and that rather than unleashing such a vituperative attack on the group and the leadership, particularly when the entire leadership team had met in Udaipur for a three-day brainstorming session, Jakhar should have reflected upon himself and the Jakhar sahab says the Congress party is big, grand, and too magnanimous, and that he was fielded from Gurdaspur in byelection and elected to the Lok Sabha, and also elected to the PCC presidency.Jakhar, he said, launched a suicidal attack on the same party that gave so much to him and his family just because he was not appointed the chief minister.Jakhar's remarks, warring said, antagonized and alienated a large number of people, putting the party in jeopardy not only in Punjab, but also in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
