A video of a chimpanzee mother reuniting with her newborn child will surely warm your heart. The Sedgwick County Zoo posted the heartwarming clip on social media. On Tuesday, the newborn baby boy was delivered by C-section, and because the chimp was unable to breathe on his own at the time of his birth, hospital staff opted to hold him for two days. The mother, whose name is Mahale, embraces her son in the video after seeing her baby after two days of separation.

Mahale and his baby were reunited this morning after almost two days.Mahale gave birth to her baby by C-section after her labor had stopped progressing. At birth, the boy wasn't getting enough oxygen so he had to stay in the hospital for emergency care and attention from the medical staff until he was strong enough to return to mother. In another post, the zoo informed the social media community that the baby and his mother are doing great.

In Swahili, Kucheza (koo-CHAY-zuh) means play.In this video, you can see a sweet moment between mother and son as he nursed, according to Kwch.com, who said that Dr Heather Arens, the zoo's director of animal welfare, helped deliver the baby along with the human medical staff. The problem with human and animal birthing, she told the portal, is that doctors are unable to perform hands-on monitoring of the animals to see how their contractions are going.Nevertheless, she said Kuchezas delivery was the best they could have desired, and I think that the teamwork and the liaison with human medical experts, as well as the collaboration with the community, is something that not every zoo has.
