WB: Howrah inspection results in the attack of a female employee; LoP Suvendu demands the arrest of the perpetrator

Howrah (West Bengal) India December 9 : During an investigation of the AWASPLUS scheme in the area, a woman officer of the West Bengal Fisheries Department was physically assaulted at Udang 2 gram panchayat area of Amta I Block in Howrah district.During the incident, the officer was arrested, according to the West Bengal Political Party Leader Suvendu Adhikari.Adhikari called the event shameful, and tweeted Shameful!During the PMAY-G Scheme inspection, a Government official, who is also a Lady, is assaulted by TMC goons.

@girirajsinghbjp:Smt Somdatta Dasgupta, a fisheries Extension Officer at Amta I Block, was accused of being assaulted when she went to verify names on the Awas Yojana list with two other workers, who may have pressed to allocate housing units to the unemployed, according to another tweet.Her son Nirapada Kaule asked the officer and her crew to delete the photos, but when they refused, they were allegedly assaulted by him.The officer and her team identified themselves as government officials and lodged a lawsuit at Amta Police Station later that day.The accused has been arrested and will be detained in Uluberia Court on Friday.
