We abide by our word: Rahul Gandhi on the Congress's decision to waive farmer loans

Rahul Gandhi says he has waived loans for 22 lakh farmers in Rajasthan . He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of failing to fulfill his pledge to grant the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) national project status .

Goa, Rajasthan: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi maintained that his group keeps its promises and has waived loans for 22 lakh farmers in Rajasthan on Wednesday.He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of failing to fulfill his pledge to grant the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) national project status.Mr Gandhi declared in Kota that loans to 22 lakh farmers had been waived.In the last assembly elections, the Congress government in Rajasthan promised to waive farmers loans.

He said he will fulfill it soon.Mr Gandhi said he had cancelled it.Now that the Rajasthan government wants to extend the scheme with its funding, the center is opposing it.According to the former Congress president, the state government has financed the initiative by Rs 9,500 crore.The project was announced during the previous BJP government.

After walking for about ten kilometers around the district, he landed at the house of party worker and former deputy pradhan Ashok Meena in Gopalpura on NH-52.Rahul Gandhi ji enjoyed gur ki chai.He had specifically asked for it.He had homemade gur ki chai.Mr Meena said Rahulji and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot enjoyed the tea and both liked the taste.

Rahul ji pleaded with CM Gehlot to solve the problem, he said.
