Ireland captain Andrew Balbirnie discusses the challenges facing an anxious second-string Indian squad, T20 leagues, and opportunities ahead of the two-T20I series. What do you see this short two-match T20I series against a second-string Indian team? It's a big showdown for us.In the T20 format, they have such a wide variety of players.

They are all looking to please.A lot of players are competing for a full-strength role in this Indian T20 side. They will also be under attack, as per the article. In a few weeks, we will be playing NZ.

There is also an opportunity for players on both ends.Ireland is a full member of the ICC.To play these short international games in the United Kingdom, you must rely on big clubs who are touring the country. It's also a blessing to play them in Dublin.

To play such big teams in Dublin and Belfast supports the development of the sport in the region.Naturally, as cricketers, we would like to travel.Although I wasnt a part of the 2011 World Cup in India, the guys who participated said it was the best experience. To qualify for next year, we have a 50-over WC.

When I first started playing professional cricket, I had to play in England, as did many others. We now have 23 players on Ireland's deal who are free to train however they please. It has allowed the coaches to see these players on a day-to-day basis. The importance of T20 leagues for players from lower cricketing nationsWe have a number of players who are proficient in the T20 style.

Many of us have a huge wish for this goal. That's the pinnacle of T20 cricket. As you watch a team progress, it can be seen how quickly they mature. We have a number of players who compete in various leagues but not the IPL.

The ICC has decided to increase the number of participants teams from the next cycle of ICC games...It's an encouragement. At 50-over World Cups, Ireland's best matches have been the most memorable.Due to the work the Irish team did in the 2007 and 2015 WC, we now have recruited players. It's an opportunity to showcase the sport in the region and what we can do on that platform.

Despite being in Test contention, Ireland hasn't played a Test since 2019...I have been blessed to play three Tests for Ireland. We've been in situations where we had chances to win all of them, but we didn't take those chances.I am 31 years old now and there is no future Test match for me.It's so disappointing.

We aim to perform at least 5-6 Tests per year in order to help players better understand and master their skills.(On Sunday, June 26th and 28th, 2022, watch the Ireland-India T20I series on SONY SIX (English), SONY TEN 3 (Hindi), and SONY TEN 4 (Tamil & Telugu) from 9:00 a.m. IST (Watch Ireland-India T20I series on SONY SIX (English), SONY TEN 4 (Hindi), and SONY TEN 4 (Tamil
