Sift Kaur Samra of Punjab was crowned national champion in the womens 50mm Rifle 3 Positions (3P) at the Vattiyoorkkavu Shooting Range in Thiruvananthapuram, the site of the 65th National Shooting Championship Competitions in rifle competitions, on November 24.Sift lost 16-10 to Rajasthans Manini Kaushik, who had topped the qualifying charts the day before.Odishas Shriyanka Sadangi took bronze medals.Sift, who had finished sixth in qualification, came to the top of the standings with a score of 404.2.Manini finished second with 402.9, which gave her the right to face Sift in the gold medal contest.

They were followed by two recent India internationals, Anjum Moudgil and Mehuli Ghosh, who finished fifth and sixth with 401.2 and 347.8 respectively.Ashi Chouksey, Lajja Gauswami, and Himany Poonia rounded out the top eight in the order of magnitude.Ashi dominated the junior womens 3P, winning gold in the event after defeating Surabhi Bharadwaj Rapole of Telangana 17-9.Haryana's Nishchal earned bronze in the womens and junior women's 3P team competitions, respectively.
